Uh-oh, here comes your first ration of RADluv.
Among its many failure-producing traditions, Old Think includes the
common, universally accepted practice of advertising network and
affiliate marketing programs and products in the open market.
This common practice will kill your business. Period.
The 6 biggest reasons why
open market advertising
is a disastrous practice.
-
They don't know you. They don't trust
you. They don't believe you. This means that 99 and 44/100ths percent of the people in the open market won't buy whatever you're
selling. Even if it's the best thing since sliced bread. They've
been lied to and scammed too often (so have we, so have you) and
they simply don't believe total strangers. (You wouldn't believe us
now if our relationship hadn't come this far.)
-
Open market advertising is Interruption
Marketing and of course it's full of competitors trying to out-shout
each other. So the louder you get, the more people will tune you
out. That's the Catch-22 of Interruption Marketing (see RAD Day 3.)
-
SPAM (unsolicited commercial email) is
one form of open market advertising and it is Interruption Marketing
at its worst. SPAMing can get you into big trouble. The only viable
alternative is your own opt-in email list of people who give you
permission to dance.
-
Open market advertising is highly
risky. You can lose tons of ad money when strangers don't believe
you and thus ignore your ads.
-
And what are you advertising, anyway? A
free report (read: advertisement) about your primary program if
we'll go to your company-provided website? This is typical Old
Think. Does the "report" put the prospects' interest first
with objective, useful information? Does the program's website
capture their names and addresses? Who gets the list of them ALL?
Boo-hoo not you. You just paid to build the company's list. Nice
work. This is the Fatal Flaw (see RAD Day 2).
-
Your program goes bust or you quit it.
You join something else but you're listless. You paid for a list
that you never got your hands on. You have to start all over from
scratch. No wonder so few people succeed.
Bottom Line:
Build Your List First
Build your list first. THEN advertise your programs and products to
IT. This will get you started. Then diversify your business. Offer
several products or programs. This builds your wealth. One list ...
diversified offerings ... multiple streams of income from it.
Your permission qualified opt-in list
is your most valuable business asset.
That's where the money is.
Yes, we admit it: (a) all marketing must begin by interrupting, and
(b) you have to advertise in the open market in order to build your
list. But this time you're not asking people to believe you about a
program or product for sale. You're just offering something of value for
free. When it's RAD training, you're offering something that RADDIEs
call "priceless." And you attract good people who seek
knowledge and solutions for THEIR business. Many are desperate. You'll
see a big difference in response.
"I'm in RAD...YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. I am sooo
happy. You can't imagine how incredibly excited I am. I am so
thankful that I found you guys. This is exactly what I have been
looking for for a long time. You have created something so
fabulous it's indescribable for the person who is trying and
finally finding the right tool to make money on the Internet.
This is a dream come true. I could never write like you or
anyone else. This will allow me to build my list, have a way to
keep in touch and eventually introduce people to my other
programs.
